...but I just couldn't get into the movement system. Perhaps it was my laptop trackpad or just the feel of it, but I couldn't make much fine control of the movement, and kept dying on spikes. The timer also seemed really short, so there wasn't much time to learn how to do it. Dying after about five seconds in a game doesn't help get people acclimated.
But if I had played part one first, I suppose I'd be more used to it.
I do like the art, the look, the music, and so on. This just wasn't a game for me.
I love the combination of RPG with defense game. I found myself sucked into the story, and wanting to know how it's going to end. The different level of challenges with the same map was a good way to learn and level. The skill trees and personalization of recruited followers was a good touch. The equipment was a bit dull, however. I wish there was some more 'loot' you could find. Even so, a great job. I look forward to playing the full version.
Nice idea, yet I think you could have gone further. I also didn't understand why you chose a Christmas song ("Deck the Halls") for the medieval music. It was a good "demo" but really needed to be longer for a full game.
The first time I played it through, I thought it was a rather depressing game ending. All I did was walk to the right, and ended up committing suicide.
Second time, I walked to the left, and nothing happened after a good few minutes. No encounters whatsoever.
Third time, I tried to walk to the right again, but this time, my character got stuck after the dark guy who had his hand sticking out vanished. I couldn't move. I suppose you could claim that was a "different ending."
However, the game mechanics aren't WASD or arrow keys. Only A/D or left-right worked. There is nothing else to do in the game.
The music, while initially spooky, was just annoying after a while.
This has the look of what could be a nice atmospheric/environmental exploration, but it's incomplete and sophomoric in its execution.
I am not sure why I am "attacking" these cities, and it is not apparent what the move or attack system is doing. You need a better help system for people to understand what they are supposed to be doing. I had three cities and still hadn't gotten into a fight.
Anyway, it looks like you put some effort into it. Perhaps explain better what all the options are supposed to be good for. I was lost and I've played a good number of defense and army-building games.
I liked the way the campaign progressed. However near the end, it seemed rather easy. I was wondering if you might add in some more levels or some sort of "last stand" scenario to see how long you might last. It was good but not *AWESOME!* Good stuff.
My CPU pegged at 100% because of this game. You might want to see if you are doing something overly-taxing. I can understand if an MMORPG or a full-screen RTS game sucked up CPU, but a simple platformer shouldn't be so hard on the RAM.

The game doesn't really explain itself

A very satisfying play
Thre's a lot of "grinding" in this game. You won't finish it in one sitting. But if you like Tower Defense games, this will really rock your socks.

Performance hog
